Baru Volcano

It is the highest point in Panama its altitude is 3.475 m.a.s.l.  (11400,92) and is located in the province of Chiriqui. The last eruption of this volcano poured a huge amount of lava that cooled to become a field of stone. Also is located south of the continental divide in the foothills of the Talamanca Mountains, west of the province of Chiriqui. This fertile area surrounded by highlands and rivers helped by caldera, Chiriqui Viejo, the towns of Volcan, Cerro Punta and Boquete west. The most recent eruption occurred around important 500 years. There are reports and evidence of a minor eruption around 1550. The Isthmus of Panama is so narrow that you can see the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean sea from the top. you can also see from the top towns of Boquete, Volcan, Cerro Punta, Rio Sereno, Bugaba, Punta Burica and southern Costa Rica. we can hike this trail in two ways could be full day this take around 10 hrs in full day hiking, and camping trip to the top of the volcano.

LOCATION: Parque Nacional Volcan Baru
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner to expert
FITNESS: Participants should be in good physical condition. Although you can take your time hiking this trail, certain sections of the trail are quite strenuous and the hike spans anywhere from 8 to 12 hours, depending on physical condition.
